Also known as Ayurveda, Ayurvedic Medicine is one of the oldest holistic healing solutions in the world and was developed around thousands of years ago in Indian subcontinent. It is developed on the belief that wellness and health actually rely on delicate harmony between body, mind and soul. Ayurvedic medicine is focused on promoting good health, instead of curing disease which is classically achieved from prescription medications from an accredited online Canadian pharmacy. Ayurveda is known as the form of CAM medicine or Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the US.

Concepts of Ayurvedic Medicine

Theoretically, each and everything in the universe, whether living or non-living, is connected. Hence, one can achieve good health when their body, mind and soul are connected to the universe. Any interruption in this harmony can cause sickness and bad health. Here are some of the major interruptions –

  • Injuries
  • Birth or genetic defects
  • Age
  • Seasonal and climate changes
  • Emotions

Your unique psychological and physical characteristics and your immune system form the constitution of your body which stays the same forever. Your digestion system and disposal of body waste play an important part in it. According to Ayurveda, everyone is made with the blend of five basic elements of nature –

  • Air
  • Space
  • Fire
  • Earth
  • Water

In the human body, these elements combine and form three energies or life forces, known as Doshas. How our body works consistently depend upon these Doshas –

  • Pitta Dosha (Water and Fire)
  • Vata Dosha (Air and Space)
  • Kapha Dosha (Earth and Water)

Everyone has a unique blend of these doshas and each controls a unique function of the body.
